Kids Ministry Volunteer

It is the purpose and intent of First Baptist Church to provide a safe environment to teach and care for the children and youth in our church and community. 

What We Require
  • KidMin volunteers must be in 6th grade or older. 
  • All KidMin workers are expected to be actively involved at First Baptist Church and have attended for a minimum of six months before volunteering in our children’s/youth ministry. Actively involved means: attending church services at least twice monthly as well as being involved on a regular basis in a small group (Sunday School, small group, Bible Study, Wednesday Night Live, Refuge, etc.).
  • The completion of Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Online Training for volunteers 18 years old and older.
  • A background check for volunteers 18 years old and older.
  • A personal interview with a member of the staff.

Junior Volunteer Information

Junior Volunteers are students in grades 6th-12th. 

Check-in Crew

A rotation of volunteers greet and check-in families on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings during Kids Club. Volunteers need to be comfortable using a computer. Training will be provided.

Kids Club

Volunteers commit to serving during one or both of the Kids Club Sessions (usually 8-10 weeks) on Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm – 8:20pm. Volunteers can choose which age group (nursery through 5th grade) they would like to serve with. Crew Leaders help direct their crew of kids to different stations and lead their crew time. Station Leaders will lead activities for a rotation of three crews. Minimal planning and prep is required for Crew & Station Leaders. Nursery Crew stays in the nursery and has no planning or prep required. 

Our goal is to create two rotations for Kids Club; a Fall Crew and a Winter/Spring Crew. This will allow you to serve one session and take a class the other. If you are interested in serving at Kids Club, please complete the information below.

Kids Worship

If you would like to be on the Sunday morning Kids Worship rotation, please complete the information below. Kids Worship is offered during the 10:15am service. We encourage you to attend the 8:00am service on weeks when you are serving.

Nursery

If you would like to be on the Sunday morning Nursery rotation, please complete the information below.

Vacation Bible School

Please complete the information below if you are interested in serving at VBS 2026. VBS is June 22nd-26th. 

Special Events

If you would like to be on the call list for special events, please check the box below. Examples would be the Last Day of School Fun Days, ROE SummerFEST, School Supply Shop, Praise in the Park, and the Good Friday Family Easter Event.
